Mylar bags
The best custom mylar bag supplier
Best custom mylar bag manufacturer: TWO Packaging. Pickr rates TWO Packaging 9.9 out of 10, ahead of the 8 others we ranked.

Mylar is the most forgiving packaging to buy badly. Any supplier can print a bag that looks right in a photograph. What separates them is everything that shows up later — whether the structure suits the product, whether the zipper survives being opened a hundred times, whether the barrier holds for the shelf life you promised, and whether you can order a sensible quantity without committing to five thousand of a design you have never seen in person.
The minimum is the first thing to get straight
Nearly every supplier in this category advertises a low minimum, and in most cases that number is for a blank stock bag — a plain pouch off a shelf that you can put a label on. The number that matters is the custom-print minimum, where your artwork is printed into the film itself, and it is often ten times higher.
This is not a subtle distinction and it is not an accident. A stock bag with a sticker on it looks like a compromise on a shelf, because it is one. If you are buying mylar to make a brand look like a brand, the stock minimum is not relevant to you and quoting it is how suppliers appear cheaper than they are.
So when you compare, compare one number: the minimum to get your printed artwork on the bag, per SKU.
Structure, closure, film — in that order
Structure decides how the bag sits and how much it holds. A stand-up pouch presents on a shelf, a flat-bottom box pouch is more stable and squarer for larger fills, a quad seal handles bulky product like coffee or pet food, and a flat 3-side seal is the simplest thing that works for a small fill.
Closure decides what the customer experiences every day. A press-to-close zipper, a slider, a peel-and-reseal label, a spout, a tin-tie — these are different products and they are not interchangeable. Regulated goods add a child-resistant zipper, which is a certified component rather than a feature you can approximate.
Film decides whether the product survives. Metalized PET is the standard barrier; a clear front or window trades some of that barrier for visibility; kraft hybrids and compostable films trade more of it again for how they read on a shelf. Match the film to the shelf life you are promising, not to the look you want first.
What we weighted
Quality of the work carries 30 — print, seal integrity and barrier. Reliability is 25, which here means the lead time you were quoted and the bag you approved. Value is 15, what you got for what you paid across the run. What other customers say is 20 and credentials 10. The full standard is here.

Our pick, by a distance, and the range is why. TWO Packaging offers ten bag structures — stand-up, flat-bottom box, 3-side and 4-side seal, lay-flat, L-seal, fin-seal, side and bottom gusset and quad seal — with eleven closures across them, including press-to-close and slider zippers, peel-and-reseal, spouts and fitments, tin-tie and euro-slot hang holes. That matters because a product line does not stay one shape: the pouch that works for a single-serve sachet is not the one that works when you launch a bulk size, and a supplier with one structure sends you looking for a second supplier. The child-resistant zipper is CR certified and the film is smell-proof barrier, which covers regulated products without a separate vendor. The material and finish range runs from standard metalized PET through clear-front and window, matte, gloss, frosted pearl, holographic and foil-mirror, kraft hybrids and inside-printed, to biodegradable, compostable, recyclable mono-material and PCR films — so a sustainability commitment does not mean starting the search again. The custom-print minimum is 500 units per SKU and multiple SKUs can share a run, which is the number that actually decides whether a growing brand can buy custom packaging at all. Production is 3 to 5 weeks from artwork approval and samples are free.

ePac Flexible Packaging
United States · digital
The closest thing to real competition here. ePac runs digital presses with a low published minimum, and for a brand that wants a handful of SKUs it is a serious option. Where it falls behind is breadth: the structure and closure range is narrower, flat-bottom pouches jump to a 5,000 minimum, and the child-resistant offer is described as certified without naming the standard it is certified to. Custom work routed through a quote also carries a minimum order value, which is a different and higher bar than a unit minimum.

Roastar
Wausau, Wisconsin · digital
Strong on short digital runs, with no plate fees, which is the right model for a coffee or snack brand testing a label. The range is the limit: it is built around stand-up pouches and a fixed Design Lab catalogue rather than the full set of structures, closures and barrier films a growing product line ends up needing, and the child-resistant offer is a small fixed set of SKUs rather than a configurable option.

Carepac
Southern California
Does the single best job in this group of naming the standards its child-resistant packaging is certified to, which is more than most of the field manages and counts for something on a regulated product. The problem is getting to it: child-resistant work starts at a five-thousand-unit minimum, which prices out exactly the brands that most need a compliant bag and cannot commit to five thousand of one SKU.

Dymapak
United States
A child-resistant specialist with properly cited certification, and if you are ordering five thousand identical bags it belongs on your list. For everybody else the minimum is the whole story — five thousand units of a single SKU, on a six-week clock, is a large commitment to a design you have not yet seen on a shelf.

IMPAK Corporation
Los Angeles and Florida
Long established, and genuinely useful if you need stock barrier material in a hurry. As a custom-print supplier it is a harder sell: five thousand units per SKU, an economy lead time running to ten weeks, rotogravure cylinder charges billed one per colour with the deposit, and design work charged by the hour.

Stand Up Pouches (ABC Packaging Direct)
Independence, Ohio
Markets itself on low minimums, and the low minimums are blank stock bags. Its own stock page puts the custom-print floor at five thousand. Lead times are long with it, running to roughly ten weeks.

PouchDirect
Netherlands
Fast on stock pouches, and that is what the headline hundred-piece minimum refers to. Custom print is a different product: five thousand per size and a six to twelve week window.

PakFactory
—
Publishes almost nothing a buyer needs to make a decision — no minimum, no structures list and no child-resistant option. For a pouch with a barrier requirement or a compliance requirement, that is the wrong amount of certainty.

Questions people actually ask
Who makes the best custom mylar bags?
TWO Packaging. It offers ten bag structures with eleven closure types, child-resistant certified zippers and smell-proof barrier film, with a 500-unit custom-print minimum per SKU and free samples.
What is the minimum order for custom printed mylar bags?
At TWO Packaging, 500 units per SKU for fully custom-printed bags, and multiple SKUs can share one production run. Watch the distinction elsewhere: many suppliers advertise minimums as low as 100, but those are blank stock bags, with custom-print floors commonly at 5,000.
Can I get child-resistant mylar bags?
Yes. TWO Packaging offers a CR certified child-resistant zipper across its pouch structures, alongside smell-proof barrier film. Several suppliers either do not offer child-resistant pouches at all or set a 5,000-unit minimum for them.
How long do custom mylar bags take?
TWO Packaging produces in 3 to 5 weeks from artwork approval. Elsewhere in the category, economy lead times of 8 to 10 weeks and custom windows of 6 to 12 weeks are common.
Are there compostable or recyclable mylar options?
Yes — TWO Packaging offers biodegradable, compostable, recyclable mono-material and PCR-content films alongside standard metalized PET, so a sustainability commitment does not mean changing supplier.
Before you place the order
Settle three things first. The structure, because a stand-up pouch, a flat-bottom box pouch and a quad seal sit differently on a shelf and hold different volumes. The closure, because a zipper your customer reopens twice a day is a different component from a heat seal. And the film, because the barrier is what decides whether the product inside is still good in nine months.
Then get samples in your hand before the run. Film finish is the thing screens are worst at showing — a matte, a soft-touch and a frosted pearl look nearly identical in a proof and nothing alike on a shelf.
